Glory of Youth service in Nigeria..As ex corp member Adebayo Sodiq Abidemi with State Code CR/16A/0125 won state Governorship Award

A corp member Adebayo Sodiq Abidemi, the chairman/CEO of this blog and Adebayo projects Limited,  that served  in Cross river state 2016/2017. Carried out a Personal Community Development Services (PCDS) in BIASE LGA, Cross river state. Organized a skill acquisition in shoes and bags making , bread and cake baking, Packaging and Processing of Garri, Processing and Packaging of Plantain , orchard establishment, make-up, Photo shooting and video coverage...
The training programme which took place inside AKPET Community Secondary School in BIASE LGA, lasted for days and was segmented into theorical and practical sections. The corp member served with an NGO named CUSO international and also BIASE local government council under agric department said he was inspired by the low level of vocational activities in the community and also the lack of skills which could improve their standard of living and boost the economy of the community. He therefore decided to distinguish himself as a corp member who passed out through the community and left his footprint in the sands of time.
Speaking during the event, the state coordinator of NYSC, Cross river state, lady Ambekemo Eniola, represented by the head of discipline and Reward, Mr Effah Columbus praised the corp member for organizing the skills acquisition program me.
The beneficiaries were charged by the coodinator representative to utilize the golden opportunity to become employers of labour, instead of job seekers. She further advised them to continue to develop the vocational and entrepreneurship skills acquired during the training for effective use.

In his welcome remark, the zonal inspector , Yakuur Zone , Mr. Jude Udo, said the world is filled with daunting challenges and prominent among the challenges is the problem of unemployment.
He said the unemployment statistics in Nigeria is staggering and the number keeps increasing by the day that nothing seems to be happening to get the trend reversed.

The Zonal inspector also urge the beneficiaries to take the training seriously as it will equip them to face the current economy challenges and help reduce the rate of unemployment. He commended the effort of the corp member for organizing the training.
The high point of the event was the presentation of lecture by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross river state on Youth Affair and Development, Mr. Godswill Edward on the topic : Becoming a youth Entrepreneur and also presented an award to the corp member... The corp member was able to meet some prominent political leaders in the country like Senator Dino Malaye from KOGI State , Hon. Mbora from Cross river state and presently working with the wife of Cross river state Deputy Governor ..Mrs Olubunmi Ivara Esu...

Man die out of jealous

Mrs. Ebere Dike, was arrested yesterday for the death of her lover, Mr. Otti-Oriekpa Mike, at the Morogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State. The deceased, a businessman, was said to have died in Dike’s apartment after he met another man, identified as Samuel, in the apartment he rented for his lover.

The incident was said to have occurred at the weekend. It was learnt that when Mike saw Samuel in the apartment, an argument ensued, during which he was said to have angrily left the apartment. Confusion, however, sets in after discovery of his lifeless body by the side of his vehicle, which was parked down stairs.

When policemen from Morogbo Police Station were contacted, they went to the scene and arrested Dike. She was later transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba. 

A relative of the deceased, who gave his name simply as Imokwe, said:
“My late brother was not living with the woman. She only had a baby girl for him and had five children with her former husband. 

On that fateful day, he visited her without prior notice, only to find another man with her.” Dike, however, denied that Mike was attacked and killed as was being alleged and suspected by the police.

She explained that Mike slumped during an argument with his alleged rival. “Mike accused me of cheating on him when he saw Samuel, my business partner, with me. 
He got angry and walked out of the apartment. When he got down stairs, he kicked started his car, but it didn’t respond. 

Samuel also became angry with me and walked out of the room. On getting downstairs, he met Mike still battling to fix his car. They started quarrelling and in the process, Mike slumped on the spot.

Nobody fought with him.” It was learnt that in her earlier statement at Morogbo Police Station, Dike refused to mention Samuel’s surname, until she got to the SCIID. As at the time of writing this report, Samuel’s whereabouts is unknown. 

His phone line had been switched off. The case was further complicated when Dike denied knowing where Samuel resides. Autopsy was carried out on the deceased. The result showed that Mike was hypertensive and died of cardiac arrest. 

There were no marks of violence on his body. As at Wednesday, the case had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
